Dan Huckabee

Dan Huckabee is the 1976 National Dobro Champion and the President of Workshop Records Cassette and Video Music Instruction. Dan has recorded 5 solo albums and toured with several professional Bluegrass Bands, but has spent more time creating music instruction material than performing. In 1973 Workshop Records started producing cassette music lessons for two primary reasons. The first was that it was difficult to learn by reading sheet music, and the second because the sheet music available didn't correspond exactly to the performances on recordings that aspiring musicians were interested in.

The first Workshop Records product was a collection of Josh Graves most popular dobro solos, that were taught exactly note-for-note as Josh had played them on the original recordings. This product met with great appreciation because such information simply had never before been available. From there the company started teaching other instruments and concepts, with special purposes and teaching systems being the primary focus. Now over 20 years have passed and Workshop Records offers over 2,000 music instruction products with Bluegrass Guitar being one of the main specialties.

Dan's latest effort is a Bluegrass Guitar video lesson called "Perfecting Bluegrass Guitar Solos". In this video Dan teaches how to accomplish the most speed, accuracy, and tone, in the least amount of time. Dan has also recently released. "Understanding the Formula of Music", designed to give a firm knowledge of the mechanics of music to help you learn to teach yourself to play an instrument.
