Welcome to the September/October 2010 edition of Flatpicking Guitar Magazine. This edition is Volume 14, Number 6 of the magazine and is focused on introducing our readers to learning how to flatpick swing and jazz music. Swing and jazz tunes have always been part of the flatpicking repertoire since the 1960s when Doc Watson was playing tunes like "12th Street Rag," "Lady Be Good," "Sweet Georgia Brown" in his shows and Clarence White was recording tunes like "The Sheik of Araby," and through the years more and more of the swing and jazz repertoire has found its way into flatpicking jams and so we thought it was about time that Flatpicking Guitar Magazine focused on this style of music. We hope that you will enjoy this special issue of Flatpicking Guitar Magazine.

Introduction to Swing and Jazz: "Avalon"
CD Highlight: Dan Geib & "I'll Say Goodbye to You"
