Welcome to the Flatpicking Essentials website! This site is designed as a companion to the Eight Volume Flatpicking Essentials course written by Flatpicking Guitar Magazine editor Dan Miller and flatpicker extraordinaire, Tim May. If you do not own this wonderful 8-volume instructional method, you can click <here> to find out more about what is in each of the volumes and how to purchase each volume. This Flatpicking Essentials course is brought to you by Flatpicking Guitar Magazine.

If you already own any of the Flatpicking Essentials volumes, you will find a lot of helpful information on this site. Our goal is to post information here that will help support what you have already learned and help you continue to learn more about flatpicking the acoustic guitar. In each of the volumes of this course you were assigned a number of homework problems. We have the answers to those homework problems here.

We also have posted extra audio tracks that we thought would be helpful to you, plus we've posted questions that we have received from students who are working with the course and our answers to those questions (see the FAQ section). You will also find additional licks, song examples, and rhythm tracks here. To navigate to these areas of the site, click on the buttons on the left hand side of this page.

We want to make this site interactive. We also want to keep it current and fresh. In order to do that we are going to ask that you provide us with feedback regarding the Flatpicking Essentials course and this site. The content of this site will be mainly driven by reader input. So send us an email and let us know what you are thinking, what you are having problems with, or what you would like to see on this site! Click <here> to contact us. Please include "Flatpicking Essentials" in the subject line of all correspondence.

In addition to this site, we also maintain a Flatpicking Essentials Group on the Flatpicking Network. This group will allow you to meet, correspond with, discuss flatpicking concepts, and share your arrangements other flatpickers who are also working with the course.

If you are not familiar with the Flatpicking Guitar Network, go to: http://flatpick.ning.com/ and join us! If you are already a member of the network, you can join our new group here: http://flatpick.ning.com/group/flatpickingessentials
